Equip for Equality's Summer Open House was June 1st

On June 1st Equip for Equality opened its doors to friends of the disability community for a special 20th anniversary summer open house. Over 80 people visited Equip for Equality's Chicago office, participating in an artwork silent auction and wine tasting, all serenaded with French and Italian chansons by accordionist Mr. Peter Cuchetto. The Awakenings Project, a group promoting the creative works of people with mental illness, provided over 40 paintings and three-dimensional works for the silent auction, and all proceeds benefited the Project and individual artists. Sommelier Jason Breed provided an impeccable short list of red and white wines and demonstrated tasting techniques for the various vintages.
