Our Services
The Assistive Technology (AT) Project at Equip for Equality assists individuals with disabilities to obtain AT under many different circumstances. Any child or adult in Illinois with a physical or mental disability (as defined by the ADA) is eligible for Equip for Equality's AT Project.
Through the AT Project, Equip for Equality:
- Provides information and referral services needed by individuals with disabilities to secure appropriate AT devices or services;
- Provides advice and technical assistance to individuals with disabilities seeking AT through schools, vocational rehabilitation services, employers, Medicaid and Medicare;
- Provides advocacy and representation to individuals when those services become necessary to secure the rights of individuals to obtain AT;
- Provides resource information on AT.
