About the Latinos with Disabilities Advocacy Project

Purpose: To provide legal services for disability-related issues to Illinois' Hispanic/Latino community. All legal services are provided by bilingual staff.

Several goals of the Latinos with Disabilities Advocacy Project include:

  • Meeting with individuals and families at community-based sites
  • Specializing in special education issues
  • Providing training in special education issues in Spanish
  • Partnering with other Hispanic/Latino disability-related organizations to raise awareness of disability issues within the Hispanic/Latino community
  • Supporting Hispanic/Latino parent disability groups
