About the PAIMI (Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness) Advisory Council

Purpose: to advise Equip for Equality on policies and priorities to be carried out in protecting and advocating for the rights of individuals with mental illness. It includes people with mental illness and family members, attorneys, mental health professionals, individuals from the public who are knowledgeable about mental illness, and providers of mental health services.

The Council holds approximately four meetings a year, generally lunch meetings during the week. Members have the opportunity to participate in other Equip for Equality activities, such as site visits with the Abuse Investigation Unit.
