Employment Rights of Social Security Beneficiaries
Provides an overview of the current work incentives implemented by the Social Security Administration, particularly those incentives recently passed under the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Act of 1999. Participants also learn about employment rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Audience: People with disabilities (including Social Security beneficiaries), their family members, service providers, and employers.
Tickets to Work
Concentrates on the history and purposes of the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Acts passed by Congress in 1999, which created a new vocational rehabilitation system for beneficiaries of Social Security. Participants are given a general overview of the components of Social Security's new Ticket to Work Program and receive practical advice on how a Social Security beneficiary can use a "ticket" to receive employment services.
