Equip for Equality invites you to join us in celebrating the strides people with disabilities are making toward full inclusion, and to help honor leaders who are inspiring us for the work ahead. Our featured speaker is Tammy Duckworth, Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs. We will be honoring the memory of Edward J. Doherty, Equip for Equality chairperson from 1995-2000 and a former executive at USG. We will also honor Chicago 2016, Chicago's Olympic committee, for its visionary work in placing the Paralympics as an integral part of Chicago's successful bid to be the US finalist for the 2016 Olympic Games.
We invite all people who support our mission of advancing the human and civil rights of children and adults with disabilities. Our annual benefit provides us an opportunity to celebrate our achievements, reaffirm our commitment to building a more inclusive society for people with disabilities, and honor individuals for their exceptional contribution to the disability community. It is also our major fund-raiser, enabling us to continue our vital work on behalf of people with disabilities in Illinois.
