Resource Guide for People with Disabilities
The Resource Guide for People with Disabilities was created to provide individuals with disabilities, their families, disability advocates, and service providers, information about the seemingly countless disability-related services available in Illinois.
We began collaborating in 1996 with the Young Lawyers Section Mental Health and Disability Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) to update the Resource Guide. The Illinois Attorney General’s Disability Rights Bureau also teamed up with us to update the current Guide.
We recognize that many of the agencies listed in the Resource Guide will change their contact information over time. Therefore, we plan to update the contact information at least annually by creating an update list for the pre-printed Resource Guides, and by directly amending the website version to the extent possible. Please feel free to contact us if you have any suggestions about agencies to be listed for future editions of the Resource Guide as well as if you have any corrections or updates to the current version.
A limited number of copies are available by contacting us directly. Also, you can download a copy here:
Thank you again for your interest in the Resource Guide. We hope it will be a valuable asset to you and to all individuals with disabilities in Illinois.
