Office of Personnel Management (OPM) will Improve Access to Health Benefit Information for Blind Federal Employees, Retirees, and Other Plan Participants

Equip for Equality partnered with the National Federation of the Blind to address the federal government’s failure to make health benefit information accessible to blind federal employees, retirees, and other plan participants. Under the Consent Decree, the Office of Personnel Management must ensure that health benefit information on www.opm.gov is accessible. OPM will also notify all providers of federal employee health benefits that they must make their own federal employee benefits’ websites and mobile apps accessible or face potential consequences to their contracts. EFE co-counseled this case with Brown, Goldstein & Levy.
