Disability Pride Month

Summary

July is Disability Pride Month and the anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26, 1990

July 26, 2026 is the 36th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. This landmark civil rights law transformed the lives of millions of people with disabilities by protecting their rights to access, opportunity and full participation in their communities.

While we celebrate the progress made, we also recognize the important work that must continue.  At Equip for Equality, we are proud to continue advancing the rights of people with disabilities through advocacy, legal services, education and support.  The ADA is more than a law–it is commitment to equality, dignity and belonging.

Today and every day, let’s continue building a more accessible and inclusive world.
